Looking for Stories!
We have many Chicken Soup for the Soul® books in development and are adding new titles all of the time. We are always looking for new stories and poems and hope you have some for us to consider. Take a look at the list of our future book topics to see if you have a story or poem on a subject we are looking for and then please submit it to us.
If you have a great story or poem you want to submit but we are not collecting for that topic at this time, please save it and check back with us soon. Our list of Possible Books Topics is added to frequently and hopefully, in the near future, we will add a topic that will be a perfect fit for your story or poem.
We prefer that you submit your stories only once, but if you believe your story fits in more than one book topic, please indicate which other topics you have submitted it for in the Comments line on the submission form. You can submit your story by going to the link at the bottom of the page. Thanks!
Here Are Our Future Topics:

Angels in Our Midst
**Please note this book was originally titled My Guardian Angel. If you already submitted a story or poem for that title please do not submit it to us again. We have it in our database and it will be considered for this title.** We are looking for stories from people who believe that they have encountered or been helped by angels. How did your angel manifest himself or herself? How did your angel help you or someone you know? Please do not send stories about people who are "angels" because they do nice things, and also please do not submit eulogies where you say that your loved one is now an angel. The deadline for story and poem submissions is March 31, 2014.
Christmas in Canada
Christmas in Canada is a special time. The nights are long but our hearts are warm and the lights are bright. We want your true stories that took place at Christmas time - specifically in Canada - whether you are Canadian, a resident of Canada, or a visitor to Canada. We want to hear about your celebrations and special times but please remember to keep your stories "Santa safe" so we keep the magic alive for our younger readers. And keep that Canadian spelling in your computer, eh? We are defining Christmas as the entire December holiday season and the New Year festivities too. The deadline for story and poem submissions is May 30, 2014.
Overcoming Challenges/Finding Inner Strength
Our writers surprise us with their ability to Overcome Challenges and Find Their Inner Strength. It is amazing how people demonstrate resilience, find hope, and use positive thinking in situations they never dreamed would happen to them. We would like to know what challenges you have faced in your life and what you did to overcome them. Are you recovering from health problems, financial difficulties or the loss of a loved one? What changes did you make to help you cope with these issues and turn negative into positive? Your stories will give our readers inspiration and insight into how others are coping and let them know that there is hope and recovery even in adversity. The deadline for story and poem submissions for this title was October 31, 2013. We have extended it to MARCH 31, 2014. If you have already submitted a story or poem for this title please do not submit it again. We have it in our database and it will be considered for this book.
Stories ABOUT Moms
We are collecting stories written by sons and daughters of all ages about their moms and stepmoms of all ages. Tell us what your mom has done for you. Is she always right? Do you still turn to her for advice? How has your relationship changed as you've gotten older? Is your mom a grandmother to your own children now? Share your best stories-ones that will make us laugh, cry, or nod our heads in recognition. We are not looking for general tributes (we know your mom is terrific) nor are we looking for biographies. We are looking for specific anecdotes about you and your mom or stepmom. The deadline for story and poem submissions is September 30, 2014.
Stories about the Christmas Season
Our holiday books are very popular. We do a new edition every other year and so we are now collecting stories for our Christmas 2015 book. Share your special stories about the holiday season - including Chanukah and Kwanzaa - from inspirational and joyous, to heartwarming and humorous. Remember all of the stories in our Christmas books are "Santa Safe" - we don't want to spoil the magic for children. The deadline for story and poem submissions is August 30, 2014.
Stories BY Moms
Every mom has great stories to tell, about the good days, the bad days, the funny times, and the heartwarming moments. Share your story with other moms - whether you're a new mom with a baby, a multitasking mom with teenagers or college students, or a seasoned mom with grandchildren. Share those anecdotes from your life that illustrate what it means to be a mom or a stepmom. Make us smile, laugh, tear up, or nod our heads in recognition. The deadline for story and poem submissions is September 30, 2014.
The Power of Forgiveness
Have you ever noticed how forgiving someone frees you to move on with your life? It can be a major decision though, especially if you feel you were seriously wronged. For the "New Year New You" 2015 season we plan to publish a book about the power of forgiveness. Let us know how forgiving someone changed your life. It can be something small like forgiving a rude driver who cut you off, or it can be something big like forgiving someone who caused a major negative event in your life. How did forgiving someone change your life in a positive way? Were you able to reestablish a relationship after forgiving? Did letting go of your hurt feelings heal you and bring you a sense of peace? Help others find the same resolution by sharing your story. The deadline date for story and poem submissions is June 30, 2014.
