Karen C. Talcott is the co-author of two devotional books published by Chicken Soup for the Soul: Chicken Soup for the Soul: Devotional Stories for Women and this book. Her work was also included in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Twins and More. She has a variety of new projects in the works, including several children’s books and many more devotional short stories.

Karen’s experience in writing came from fifteen years in the classroom and a master’s degree in curriculum from Oregon State University. In addition to teaching classes in grades 3-6, Karen was instrumental in setting school curriculum at the school district in which she taught. While no longer teaching elementary school, Karen continues to share her experiences and knowledge through her writing and speaking engagements.

After the birth of her twins and caring for a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Karen decided to focus her attention on freelance writing. Her husband, Leland, and three children, Kara, Griffin, and Taylor, are very supportive of her writing, and for this she is thankful. She is also a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.

Born in the beautiful state of Oregon, Karen now resides in Florida. She finds her best inspiration comes in the morning on her long walks with her two Golden Retrievers. Story ideas and titles seem to flow as she communes in God’s world. In her spare time, what precious moments there are, she enjoys her children and their many sports and activities, gardening, walking, and faithfully attending her local church. She can be reached at [email protected].
