Karen Talcott is an accomplished author of books dealing with women’s, multiples and Christian issues. She is also a sought-after speaker/lecturer on a variety of Christian and religious topics.

The past few years have been exceptionally busy for her. In addition to Chicken Soup for the Soul: Devotional Stories for Women, her book, Moms of Multiples’ Devotions to Go will be published in fall 2009. Her work was also included in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Twins and More. She has a variety of new projects in the works, including several children’s books, another twins book, and many more devotional short stories. One day, she hopes to have enough time to finish the novel that has long been simmering.

Karen’s experience in writing came from fifteen years in the classroom and a master’s degree in curriculum from Oregon State University. In addition to teaching classes in grades 3-6, Karen was instrumental in setting school curriculum at the school district in which she taught. While no longer teaching elementary school, Karen continues to share her experiences and knowledge through her writings and speaking engagements. She is also a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.

After the birth of her twins and caring for a toddler daughter, Karen decided to focus her attention on freelance writing. Her husband, Leland, and three children, Kara, Griffin, and Taylor, are very supportive of her writing, for which she is thankful.

Born in the beautiful state of Oregon, Karen now resides in Florida. She finds her best inspiration comes in the morning on her long walks with her two golden retrievers. Story ideas and titles seem to flow as she communes in God’s world. In her precious spare time, she enjoys her children and their many sports and activities, gardening, walking, faithfully attending her local church, and watching movies with her husband.

Jennifer Sands’ life drastically changed on September 11 when her husband was killed in the World Trade Center attacks. She was not a believer in Christ before then; God used that tragedy to bring forth her spiritual transformation and a writing and speaking ministry. God continued His work through her when her life changed again in 2007 as she was diagnosed with breast cancer. In her latest book, A Treasured Faith, Jennifer candidly shares her heart and her struggles with treatments. But A Treasured Faith goes far beyond a battle with cancer: it is the treasure that results from our joys and our trials. It is the wealth discovered when we dig deeply into the Bible and into our soul. It confirms the truth that the most valuable riches are obtained through a close relationship with Jesus Christ.

Jennifer’s first book, A Tempered Faith, details her emotional and spiritual journey in the first year after the terrorist attacks. In her second book, A Teachable Faith, she passes on the lessons and Biblical truths that God has taught her. Her third book, A Treasured Faith, completes the “ATF Trilogy.” Readers will be astounded at the rapid progression of Jennifer’s spiritual growth and Biblical understanding since 9/11.

Jennifer has gained a reputation as one of today’s most dynamic Christian authors and speakers. Every audience can identify with her powerful, universal message of overcoming trials through faith and trust in God. She has received extensive media coverage including featured appearances on The 700 Club, Hour of Power, Moody Bible Radio, Homelife magazine cover story, USA Today cover story, and many other broadcast and print media.
