From Chicken Soup for the Father & Son Soul

Who Is Ted Slawski?

Ted is happily married to his coauthor Dorothy Firman. While this is Ted’s first book, he has published several important works through the Synthesis Center Press, where he is a one-man show, from doing the layout, editing, and cover design through the final stages of publication. Ted is also a freelance computer consultant (Macs only!) and member of a small online business that sells Japanese samurai swords. Ted researches old swords and takes the photographs.

In his early life, Ted was a farmhand, factory worker, union steward, truck driver, and woodsman. Following that he spent twenty years as an automotive technician, then moved into computer diagnostics for cars, which led him to his work in computers.

Diagnosed with a chronic illness ten years ago, Ted, his wife, and his family have worked together to deal with health challenges, while he continues his roles as husband, father, son and working man. The love of family has stood him in good stead as he faces life’s trials. His steadfast presence for all of his family has never wavered.

Ted and Didi (Dorothy) met when Ted was eighteen. The life they’ve lived together is the greatest gift each of them has. This book and the hard work that went into it is a loving tribute to this relationship.
