Who is Mitch Claspy?

Mitch Claspy is the Vice President of Inspiration & Motivation for Teens, Inc. (IAM4Teens). Mitch has been involved with Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul and IAM4Teens since 1997, and has guided the Teenage Soul books in both leadership and creative capacities since their inception. Mitch has contributed to all aspects of the organization including helping to found the Teen Letter Project, managing each book’s editorial and permission processes.

Mitch has worked with a number of teens throughout the years in his various roles within the Teenage Soul organization. Mitch has enjoyed supervising volunteer teen Web site monitors, conducting teen reader groups, coaching young writers and outreaching to teens through the Teen Letter Project. He also helped to found the nonprofit organization Soup and Support for Teachers and Teens, which will provide free Teenage Soul books and curriculum support to the nation’s teachers in their work with young people.

Mitch’s interest in teen issues began as an undergrad at U.C. Santa Cruz, where he had the opportunity to work with teens on a weekly basis. Mitch has also managed and coordinated events for such organizations as Whole Life Expo, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences and the American Film Market.

Mitch enjoys traveling every chance he can get, hiking, playing tennis, kayaking, dining with family and friends, working on his house in Venice, California, and spending time with his dog, Harley.
