Who Are Patty and Nancy Mitchell?

Patty Aubery is the vice president of The Canfield Training Group and Self-Esteem Seminars, Inc., and president of Chicken Soup for the Soul Enterprises, Inc. Patty has been working with Jack and Mark since the birth of Chicken Soup for the Soul.

Along with her sister, Nancy, Patty is the coauthor of Chicken Soup for the Surviving Soul, Chicken Soup for the Christian Soul, Chicken Soup for the Expectant Mother’s Soul, Chicken Soup for the Christian Family Soul and Chicken Soup for the Christian Woman’s Soul. She has been a guest on over 150 local and nationally syndicated radio shows.

Patty is married to Jeff Aubery, and together they have two wonderful children, J. T. and Chandler. Patty and her family reside in Santa Barbara, California.

Nancy Mitchell Autio is the director of story acquisitions for the Chicken Soup for the Soul series. She graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. in nursing. After graduation, Nancy worked at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Four months later, she moved back to the Los Angeles area and became involved with the Chicken Soup series.

Nancy says she is most thankful for is her move back to Los Angeles. “If I hadn’t moved back to California, I wouldn’t have had the chance to be there for my mom during her bout with breast cancer.” Out of that struggle, Nancy helped coauthored Chicken Soup for the Surviving Soul and other Chicken Soup titles. Little did Patty and Nancy know that Surviving Soul would become their family’s inspiration when their dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1999.

Nancy, her husband, Kirk and their daughter, Molly, reside in Santa Barbara.

You may contact Patty or Nancy at P.O. Box 30880, Santa Barbara, CA 93130 or by calling 805-563-2935.
