Who Is Maida Rogerson?

Born on Prince Edward Island, Canada, the setting for Anne of Green Gables, Maida Rogerson is an actor, singer and writer. Her distinguished thirty-year career in theater and television has taken her from the Atlantic to the Pacific, and from northern Canada to Hollywood. Film and television credits include Between Friends with Elizabeth Taylor and Carol Burnett, and Heartsounds with Mary Tyler Moore and James Garner. She studied opera in Italy and has performed for Great Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II.

Maida enjoys exploring a wide variety of artistic expression. She is an avid reader, with a special interest in cultural diversity and a deep appreciation for folk art, world music and ethnic dance. Her travels have taken her to the Orient, the Middle East, South America and Europe. Wherever she goes, Maida collects soulful stories and opens hearts to the richness and joy of living.

Since moving to the United States in 1990, Maida works with her husband, Martin Rutte, exploring the integration of spiritual values in the workplace. Her contributions to their company, Livelihood, include speechwriting, research and workshop development. From her home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, she continues her acting career and has completed two screenplays. Maida is currently researching two new books that deal with the power of acknowledgment and the use of order to simplify our lives.

Maida’s work reflects a deep desire and commitment to help people open their hearts and experience the unity of all humankind. She believes that storytelling, whether through theater, books or other media, has the power to move, inspire and change us. You can contact Maida at:
