Santa’s Gift

Whatever you believe with feeling becomes your reality.

~Brian Tracy

My husband and I both agree that Christmas is one of our favorite holidays. Anyone with children knows that the holiday is even more magical when you experience it through the innocent eyes of your children! Christmas with our four little ones is always exciting! There is never a dull moment.

As our oldest boy has grown, he has sometimes questioned the big jolly man’s ability to really pull together all those presents. We have told him that he can believe what he wants, but he better be careful because we’d heard the number of unbelieving children getting coal in their stockings is on the rise. As any nine-year-old boy questioning Santa, he kept his eyes and ears open, ready for any evidence that would prove his theory to his naïve parents.

It wasn’t until Christmas morning that he found the evidence he needed. As we were taking turns opening presents, we got to Lissy, our five-year-old daughter. Lissy is an adorable little girl who loves to sing at the top of her lungs. She picked out of her pile her largest, most perfectly wrapped gift with the tag that said, “To: Lissy, From: Santa.” Without hesitation, she tore the paper off the gift to reveal the perfect present for our beautiful little performer — a karaoke machine! At that moment, Levi finally got the proof he had been looking for! He stood up and shouted with annoyed confidence, “That’s it. Santa DOES pick out the presents himself! There is NO way Mom and Dad would EVER be dumb enough to get Lissy something to make her even LOUDER!”
