From Chicken Soup for the Soul Daily Inspirations for Women

November 7

I hadn’t seen my husband in almost six months, and I had to look my best. So off we went to Wal-Mart, where I told everyone within earshot that my husband was coming home from deployment.

We looked through the clothes racks and found outfits for the girls. I was another story. As my daughters delivered their usual “you never buy yourself anything” routine, I looked at the tags and gasped. There was no way I could afford this, so I led my daughters out of the store, explaining our financial limitations.

As we wandered out, a woman walked up to me and handed me a piece of paper. It was a note thanking my husband and me, and blessing us both. Included were three $20 bills.
