TOO MUCH WORK

Too Much Work

Going back to work after a few years of being a stay-at-home mom was more of a challenge than I had anticipated. My days seemed to consist of running to work, running to school, running to the grocery store, and running up and down the stairs doing laundry and cleaning. My list of things to do seemed endless.

In the middle of one such day, frazzled and worn out, I decided that my daughters, who were then ages six, five, and three, could start helping. I had them pick up their toys in their bedrooms, make their beds, and do a couple of other small tasks. I left them in their bedrooms to finish their assignments. When I came back to check on them, I was amused and a little exasperated to overhear them grumbling to one another, “How come we have to do all the work?”
