Susan M. Heim

Susan M. Heim is a longstanding author and editor, specializing in parenting, multiples, women’s and Christian issues. When God unexpectedly blessed Susan and her husband with twin boys, joining the two sons they already had at home, Susan took a leap of faith and left her job as Senior Editor at a publishing company to become a work-at-home mother, which allowed her more time to follow her two greatest passions: parenting and writing.

During the next decade, Susan wrote or collaborated on many books, including eleven Chicken Soup for the Soul books; Boosting Your Baby’s Brain Power; It’s Twins! Parent-to-Parent Advice from Infancy Through Adolescence; Oh, Baby! 7 Ways a Baby Will Change Your Life the First Year; and, Twice the Love: Stories of Inspiration for Families with Twins, Multiples and Singletons. Her articles and stories have appeared in many books, websites, and magazines, including Angels on Earth and TWINS Magazine. Susan also blogged for many years on the topics of parenting and writing.

In 2014, Susan returned to the office as a Library Assistant at her local public library before being promoted to the marketing team where she uses her writing and graphic-design skills to promote literacy and library programs. In her spare time, she continues to edit Chicken Soup for the Soul books and recently completed a three-year term as a deacon at her church.

A native of Michigan and graduate of Michigan State University, Susan loves her adopted home in Florida, where she raised her four sons. Two of her boys have flown the nest, and the other two will follow soon, but Susan plans to continue writing and editing for many years to come while juggling her new obsession with jigsaw puzzles, which she picked up during the pandemic.
