    • What is Chicken Soup for the Soul?

      Chicken Soup for the Soul publishes the famous Chicken Soup for the Soul series of books that, for over 29 years, has allowed people just like you to share extraordinary stories that can change someone’s life, or even the world. Today we have expanded beyond the bookshelf. We make nutritious and balanced food for dogs and cats. We now provide entertainment, inspiration and wellness across many platforms in addition to our books, including TV, movies and video programming; podcasting; positive journalism. We continue to tell the stories of all people through our efforts, always with an eye to furthering unity and understanding, and an appreciation for our differences. Our mission is to share happiness, inspiration and wellness through everything we do, so that whatever you’re doing, wherever you are, Chicken Soup for the Soul is “always there for you.™”

      We do not take title or topic ideas from the public. Please do not send them. Thank you.

  • Reprints and permissions
    • Can I use, reprint or excerpt a story from a Chicken Soup for the Soul book?

      Our stories are copyright-protected. If you would like to reprint or excerpt a Chicken Soup for the Soul story, please contact us to request permission. Permission may be granted for a specific, one-time use. Reselling the story or reusing it in any unauthorized way is prohibited. A fee to reprint may apply.

      Make sure the following information is included with any mailed or e-mailed requests:
      1) story title;
      2) story author's name (usually found at the end of the story);
      3) title of the Chicken Soup for the Soul book the story appears in; and
      4) planned use for the story, including number of copies and price, if any.

    • I would like to regularly publish Chicken Soup for the Soul stories or columns in the magazine, newspaper or other media outlet I edit or manage. How can I set up such a relationship?

      Chicken Soup for the Soul has a number of long-term media relationships with outlets such as King Features. We will consider additional relationships but we do turn down most of the requests that we get for regular reprint publication.     • Can I read stories on this website?

      Yes! You can enjoy Chicken Soup for the Soul stories on our website by signing up for our free email newsletters and/or by visiting the Free Stories page, which has the stories most recently featured in our email newsletters. These stories are available on our website for a limited time.

    • Where can I find a list of all Chicken Soup for the Soul books?

      Visit our website’s books page. Hover over “Books” in the menu above, then click “See All Our Books.” Or, simply follow this link to get detailed information about our books. If you're looking for a printable list of our books, please click here.

    • Where can I buy Chicken Soup for the Soul books?

      Consumers
      We do not sell books directly to the public, except occasionally for bulk orders. Please do not send us orders or payments. You can find Chicken Soup for the Soul books at your local bookstore, Barnes & Noble, Bookshop.org, Books-A-Million, Walmart, Target, Rite-Aid, Chapters Indigo, Kroger, Meijers, Amazon, and wherever else books are sold.

      Bulk orders
      Chicken Soup for the Soul books are available at significant discounts when purchased in bulk. Custom imprinting or excerpting is also available to fit special needs. To order any of our titles in bulk, please e-mail us at [email protected]

      Retailers
      Chicken Soup for the Soul books are distributed by Simon & Schuster. Please contact them directly to place your orders, or contact the distributor you use for obtaining books.

    • Where can I find Chicken Soup for the Soul pet food and products?

      Visit our pet food store locator to find stores near you carrying Chicken Soup for the Soul pet food and products.

    • I really liked a story from one of your books, but I can’t remember the title of the story or which book it was in. Can you help me?

      Please do not ask us to help you find a story. We are regrettably unable to fulfill your request and the many, many similar requests we get daily for locating a particular story or poem that was published in, or might have been published in, one of our over 250 different Chicken Soup for the Soul book titles.

  • Free Chicken Soup for the Soul story email newsletters and emails for book contributors
    • How do I subscribe to or unsubscribe from the free Chicken Soup for the Soul story emails?

      Subscribe to our free email newsletters and have Chicken Soup for the Soul stories delivered right to your inbox. We use an email service provider called Postup to send our email newsletters. To learn more about how we share your information with Postup and other third-party vendors that we use, please see our Privacy Policy.

      If you already receive one or more of our story email newsletters and would like to update your list choices, simply fill out the newsletter signup form with your new selections with your email address, or click on the "Manage Newsletter Preferences" link at the bottom of a story email newsletter to edit your existing list selections.

      To unsubscribe from a free story newsletter list, click on the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the email message. If you encounter an error while attempting to unsubscribe, please e-mail us directly at [email protected], with subject line “E-mail Unsubscribe Error”, and if possible, forward a copy of a full newsletter with your request.

      To unsubscribe from all free story newsletter lists at one time, click on the "Manage Newsletter Preferences" link at the bottom of a story email newsletter, which will take you to a form to edit your existing list selections. Before submitting the form, be sure to uncheck the boxes to unsubscribe, or simply select "Unsubscribe from all free story newsletters" which will uncheck everything.

      To delete your personal information from our email newsletter databases:
      - Send us an email at [email protected] with your request.
      - Include the names of the newsletters you receive so we can remove your information from the appropriate places. If possible, forward a copy of a newsletter.
      - Write "Newsletter personal info removal request" in the subject line.

      Note: If you opt-out of receiving promotional emails from us, we may continue to contact you via email with service related communications.

    • I am a Chicken Soup for the Soul book contributor. How do I change my email address or unsubscribe from contributor emails?

    • I would like to interview someone about a Chicken Soup for the Soul book. Who should I talk to?

      Although there are several editors and contributors available for interviews, the best fit for an interview is likely Amy Newmark, publisher and editor-in-chief of Chicken Soul for the Soul.     • Are individual contributors of Chicken Soup for the Soul stories available for interviews?

      Yes, many contributors are available for interviews about their stories. Please contact Rusty Shelton at [email protected] or (512) 206-0229 with the name of the contributor, the story title and the title of the book the story appeared in.

    • I am a member of the press. How can I request a review copy of a Chicken Soup for the Soul book?

      We are happy to send review copies of any title in the Chicken Soup for the Soul library to legitimate reviewers. To request one, please contact Rusty Shelton at [email protected] or (512) 206-0229.

    • I am working on a print or video piece. Do you have any photographs or video I can use?

      We have a variety of visuals available for members of the press. Please contact Rusty Shelton at [email protected] or (512) 206-0229 with your specific needs and we will do our best to accommodate them.

    • I need high-resolution images of Chicken Soup for the Soul cover art for a story I’m writing. Where can I download a file?

      All cover art is available to download on our website. To find a high-resolution copy of any cover art and download it please visit the Cover Art & Product Photos page. Then select the book title you want from the pull-down menu, and click to view the cover image and save it to your computer.

    • I need a high-resolution image of the Chicken Soup for the Soul logo for a story I’m writing. Where can I download a file?

      Images of our company logo are available to download on our website. To find a high-resolution copy and download it please visit the Cover Art & Product Photos page. Then select the company logo you want, click on it and save it to your computer.

    • Where can I find more information about the history of Chicken Soup for the Soul?

    • How do I correctly refer to Chicken Soup for the Soul in an article?

      If you are referring to the book series or the brand, please write Chicken Soup for the Soul®, including the ® on only the first mention.

      If you are referring to the title of a specific book, including the first Chicken Soup for the Soul release, it should be set in italics, e.g., Chicken Soup for the Soul or Chicken Soup for the Soul: Teens Talk High School.

      If you are referring to the company itself, please write Chicken Soup for the Soul Publishing, LLC.

    • How do I log in / access Hallway Heroes Educator materials / access Hallway Heroes interactive training?

      In an effort to make the site easier to navigate, logins are no longer required to access parts of the ChickenSoup.com website.

      This also means that Hallway Heroes Educators no longer need to register with a code or log in to access electronic versions of handouts, scope and sequences, and other information exclusive to educators. Simply visit the Hallway Heroes site and click on the links within to access the materials.

      If you have a Hallway Heroes interactive video training account, a login is still necessary - log in here to continue your training.

    • How do I delete my account?

      If you are a registered user at ChickenSoup.com or one of our subsidiary sites, and would like to delete your account or remove your personal information such as name and email address, contact us at [email protected]. In your request, include your name, username, email address associated with your account, and the URL for each site where you would like your information to be removed.

      We may ask for additional information in order for us to respond to your request efficiently. To protect your privacy, we may ask you to verify your identity before making changes to your personal information.

    • What happened to premium memberships?

      We're sorry to say that our premium story access was discontinued. Thank you to all of our past premium subscribers!

    • Why do I get a Facebook warning about my personal information when I enter a Chicken Soup for the Soul contest or sweepstakes?

      When you enter a contest on Facebook, a standard disclaimer appears that says that the contest organizer will have access to your Facebook information. This is an automatic message from Facebook that has nothing to do with our policies. We do not collect personal information about contest participants.
